Board certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and in adult congenital heart disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Thomas Fagan joined the cardiology team at the Willson Heart Center at Valley Children’s in 2021.

Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Fagan was director of the pediatric cardiac catheterization laboratory programs at Cleveland Clinic Children’s and the University of Tennessee Health and Science Center. He has fulfilled an academic appointment that specialized in heart and vascular anomalies at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Fagan has focused on clinical pediatrics though additional academic appointments at University of Tennessee Health and Science Center, University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, University of Iowa College of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. 

Passionate about his field, Dr. Fagan has served on dozens of international, national and regional committees. He is a member the American Heart Association and fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, and American College of Cardiology. He has shared his expertise through various continued medical education presentations, national and international talks and invitational conferences. 

His special interests include pediatric cardiac catheterization and general pediatric cardiology, for which he has done extensive research. Dr. Fagan’s work has been published in countless abstracts, book chapters and peer-review publications including Pediatric Cardiology, Journal of Electrocardiology and Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention

Dr. Fagan earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri, where he also completed his residency at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital through the University Health Sciences Center. He completed his postdoctoral and fourth year fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital through Baylor College of Medicine.
