Board certified in pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Swati Banerjee joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric endocrinologist in August 1998. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Banerjee is an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco – Fresno.

Dr. Banerjee has published her work in several medical journals and she participates in continuing education programs. She works closely with a task force of other pediatric endocrinologists in California to develop treatment guidelines for neonatal hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which are part of the state newborn screening program.

Dr. Banerjee is a member of the national Endocrine Society and the Pediatric Endocrine Society where she also serves on their Drugs and Therapeutics Committee.

Dr. Banerjee is a graduate of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at the University of Madras in India. She did her pediatric residency at JIPMER, and then moved to the United Kingdom where she became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in London, England. Dr. Banerjee did her pediatric residency at New York University Medical Center before completing her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Montefiore/Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York.
