Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Lissa Francois joined Valley Children’s as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist in July 2016. Her area of special interest is hypertensive disorders, diabetes, abnormal placentation, multiple gestation and vascular disorders.
Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Francois worked as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Park, California, and as an attending physician and assistant professor at Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla, New York.
Dr. Francois is a member of American Medical Association and Association of American University Women. She is a fellow of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
She has published her work in peer-reviewed publications, including “Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics,” “American Journal of Perinatology,” “Reproductive Sciences” and “Journal of Child Neurology.”
Dr. Francois received her medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine/Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles, California. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla, and Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York. She did her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Jersey.
She is proficient in French and Spanish.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three children, running and watching sporting events.
