Fellowship-trained and board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Cindy Tai joined Valley Children’s in July 2014 as a pediatric surgeon. Her area of special interest includes minimally invasive surgeries, neonatal surgeries, general pediatric surgeries and oncology.
Prior to coming to Valley Children’s, Dr. Tai worked as a regional pediatric surgeon at Southern California Permanente Medical Group where she performed neonatal and pediatric surgeries at multiple Kaiser centers in Southern California.
Dr. Tai received her Bachelor of Science from MIT and her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. She did her general surgery categorical internship and general surgery residency at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. During her general surgery training, she completed a three-year research fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where she was awarded a postdoctoral training grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Tai received several awards for her research including Winner of Best Paper by New Association for Academic Surgery Member at the 4th annual Academic Surgical Congress. Dr. Tai completed her fellowship in pediatric surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, Colorado.
