Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Ayesha Baig joined the gastroenterology team at Valley Children’s in 2020. 

Dr. Baig has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, fatty liver disease (NAFLD/NASH) as well as developing new endoscopy tools. She has shared her knowledge through translational research, abstracts, poster presentations, educational lectures and case reports. 

Passionate about her field, Dr. Baig is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterology Association, New York Society for Gastroenterology Endoscopy (NYSGE), American Academy of Pediatrics, Brooklyn Pediatric Society and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. 

Dr. Baig earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan. She completed her residency at the Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center in New York where she was also chief resident. Dr. Baig went on to complete fellowship training in the division of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and Golisano Children’s Hospital.

In addition to English, Dr. Baig also speaks fluent Urdu and Hindi.
