Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Ahmad Aboaziza joined Valley Children’s as a neonatologist in August 2019.  

Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Aboaziza worked at Vidant Hospitals in eastern North Carolina. He is also the creator and advisor of a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) web application which provides a quick reference of the East Tennessee State University NICU handbook tool for other healthcare professionals.

Dr. Aboaziza is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Medical Association (AMA) and American College of Physicians (ACP). He is certified by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and in neonatal resuscitation, pediatric advanced life support and basic life support. He has shared his expertise through various presentations and peer-reviewed publications including NeoReviews, Neonatology Today and Congenital Cardiology Today.

Dr. Aboaziza earned his medical degree from the University of Benghazi-Faculty of Medicine in Libya. He completed a pediatric residency through East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and a fellowship in neonatology through East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.  

In his free time, Dr. Aboaziza enjoys to swimming, camping and playing soccer. He is interested in world cultures and travel. Dr. Aboaziza is bilingual in English and Arabic.
