Board certified in pediatric neurology, Dr. Huiyuan Jiang joined the Valley Children’s neurology team at Eagle Oaks in Bakersfield in August 2022. 

Dr. Jiang specializes in pediatric brain disorders, including seizures, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders and neuromuscular disease, which weakens muscle functions. Active in his field, he is a member of the American Academy of Neurology Society and the International Society of Pediatric Neurology. He has received multiple awards and honors including “Most Favorite Attending” and “Best Mentor” by neurology residents at Community Mental Health in Michigan, and was recognized as “Outstanding Worker” by the Children’s Hospital of Suzhou Medical College in China. 

Dr. Jiang is passionate about raising awareness for epilepsy, and has done so through question and answers sessions in Toledo, Ohio. He has also conducted clinical teachings and lectures on topics such as neuroelectrophysiology, migraines in children and muscular dystrophy. Along with these lectures and teachings, Dr. Jiang has been published in a variety of peer reviewed journals, including Pediatric Neurology, Pediatrics Review and Neurology.

Dr. Jiang obtained his medical degree from Suzhou Medical College, China and worked at the Children’s Hospital of Suzhou in China as a pediatric resident before becoming an exchange scholar in Paris at L’Hopital Robert Debre. Dr. Jiang then made the move to the United States, where he trained as a pediatric neurologist resident and clinical neurophysiology fellow at Children’s Hospital in Michigan for his postgraduate studies. 

He is passionate about treating pediatric patients and is happy to serve the pediatric community.
