Dr. Deena Yousif joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric pulmonologist in 2021.

Dr. Yousif is not only dedicated to her patients, but is also committed to continuous research, specifically relating to bronchopulmonary dysplasia, neonatal bronchoscopy and airway evaluation, and quality improvement. She previously served as the principal investigator for research on serial polysomnography patterns in infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

In addition to being an active researcher, Dr. Yousif is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Thoracic Society and American Society for Physician Leadership.

After earning her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Tennessee, Dr. Yousif completed her pediatric residency program at University of California - San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland. She then went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Yousif was the lead fellow in Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Health Resources and Services Administration Maternal & Child Health Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Center (HRSA CHLA PPSMC) Leadership Training Program and is the recipient of the American Thoracic Society Minority Trainee Development Award.
