Dr. David Suhrbier joined Valley Children’s in January 2022.

Dr. Suhrbier served as a pediatric neurologist in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Korea and Germany. He received the Congressional Medal of Merit for his service.

Following his separation from the military, Dr. Suhrbier was assistant professor at the University of Florida. He received the SHANDS Star Award for patient care.  

Dr. Suhrbier left the University of Florida and joined Child Neurology Center of NW Florida. He established an AASM accredited sleep lab as part of the practice.  

Prior to coming to Valley Children’s, Dr. Suhrbier served as Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Erlanger Children’s Hospital. He established an AASM accredited sleep lab as part of the practice as well as received two teaching awards from the University of Tennessee Pediatric Residency program. 

Dr. Suhrbier is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Neurology, Child Neurology Society and the American Epilepsy Society. 

Dr. Suhrbier earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University-Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed residencies in both neurology and pediatrics as well as a fellowship in child neurology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
