Honors and Awards

Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Danièle Gusland joined Valley Children’s as an infectious disease specialist in 2020.

Dr. Gusland is passionate about her work and has been recognized for her research through awards and grants; in 2020 she received the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene-Committee on Global Health Award for Research Support, and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society Travel Grant. She has presented her research to professionals all over the country, and is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society.

After receiving her medical degree with specialized training tracks in global health and tropical medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Gusland went on to complete a pediatric residency with a Global Health Track at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric infectious disease at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During this fellowship, Dr. Gusland was also teaching medical students and residents.
