Board certified in pediatric neurology, Dr. Milagros Silva-Colon joined Valley Children’s in 2020 as a pediatric neurologist.

Dr. Silva-Colon’s research has been presented numerous times, including an oral presentation at the LXII Pediatric Puerto Rican Society Annual Congress. Her presentation on Epidemiologic and Clinical Manifestations of Chikungunya in a Naïve Population of Puerto Rico received first place in the 11th Annual Scientific Conference of Ponce Health Science University and Ponce Research Institute. She has also been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Puerto Rico Health Science Journal. Dr. Silva-Colon is a member of a variety of professional associations, including the American Epilepsy Society (AES), Child Neurology Society (CNS) and American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

Dr. Silva-Colon earned her medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Jalisco, México. Prior to her pediatric residency at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she served as an intern at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Silva-Colon then completed two fellowships: the first in pediatric neurology from Floating Hospital for Children, Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, followed by a clinical neurophysiology fellowship/EEG track at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Silva-Colon is fluent in Spanish and English.
