Board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Filomena Hazel Villa joined Valley Children’s in 2019 as a pediatric pulmonologist.

Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Villa served as director of pediatric pulmonary diagnostic services at the University of Texas Health in San Antonio and University Hospital. While there, she also served multiple academic appointments including associate professor and the Miss Eloise Alexander Distinguished Chair of Pediatric Pulmonology diagnostics and evaluation.
 
Dr. Villa’s special interests are pediatric lung function testing and ventilator management, which are essential in the care of children and infants with complex chronic lung disease.
 
Dr. Villa received her medical degree at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. She joined her family in the US and completed her training in Pediatrics at TTUHSC - El Paso and pediatric pulmonary training at Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland.
