Dr. Sathi is the Director of the Sickle Cell Disease Program and Apheresis Program at Valley Children's Hospital.
Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Sathi was the director of the Sickle Cell Disease Program at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. She was an assistant professor of Pediatrics and served as the Director of Sickle Cell Disease Pediatric to Adult Transition clinic, Chair of Pediatric Tumor Board and principal investigator of the Central Missouri Sickle Cell Disease Program. In addition, she was the sub-principal investigator for Children’s Oncology Group (COG) for the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
Dr. Sathi is a member of the of Children’s Oncology Group (COG). She serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Infection. Her expert research has been published in peer review journals including Pediatric Blood and Cancer, Journal of Experimental Medicine and Biology, Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Indian Journal of Medical and Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Oncology Clinics of North America. She has presented abstracts at American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and American Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation annual meetings. She was a clinical scholar of Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and of California Institute of Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Sathi’s areas of interest includes Sickle Cell and Hemoglobin Disorders, Iron Overload, Infection and Nutritional Optimization in immunocompromised hosts and global outreach. She is a visiting consultant at Malabar Institute of Medical Science, Kerala, India.
Dr. Sathi received her medical degree from Government Medical College Calicut in India. She then went on to complete an internship in pediatrics and a pediatric residency, both from University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center. Dr. Sathi also completed a residency in pediatrics at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (SRMC & RI) in Chennai, India. She completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
