Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Timothy Hansen provides direct patient care as well as resident instruction and supervision at Valley Children’s. Dr. Hansen is medical director of anesthesiology. He is also a co-director of perioperative services at Valley Children’s and an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco.

An expert in pediatric anesthesiology and critical care, Dr. Hansen has given several presentations on topics ranging from diabetic ketoacidosis to heliox therapy, for healthcare organizations and professional societies including the Association of Respiratory Therapists and the International Pediatric Concourse in Mexico City. Dr. Hansen is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Hansen lives in Fresno with his wife Beverly and their four children. His hobbies include sailing, water and snow skiing, and home improvement projects.

Graduating from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Hansen completed his postgraduate medical training in anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh Affiliated Hospitals and pediatric anesthesia and critical care at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.
