Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and fellowship-trained, Dr. Minesh Patel joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric gastroenterologist in November 2015. His area of special interest is inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases and nutrition.
Dr. Patel has presented nationally and conducted research on various topics in his field involving gastrointestinal conditions and hospital quality improvement issues such as medication error prevention.
He is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
Dr. Patel received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine at Western University – College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He completed his pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Community service is important to Dr. Patel. In addition to volunteering at community clinics, he has been a counselor at Camp Oasis, operated by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, and at Camp Cavett, a camp for children with chronic illnesses, where he also served as camp physician.
In his free time, Dr. Patel likes spending time with family and friends and enjoying sporting activities.
