Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Lindsey Demetral joined Valley Children’s in September 2015 as a pediatric hospitalist. Her areas of special interest are infectious disease, academic medicine and quality improvement.

She has presented, published and conducted research on infectious diseases, specifically on coccidiodomycosis, or more commonly known as Valley Fever, a disease process that directly affects children of the Central Valley. She has also conducted research and implemented protocols improving the quality of physician handoffs and increasing patient safety. She has been active in pediatric resident education, academic medicine, and a mentor to future pediatricians.

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Demetral received her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Touro University California, College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with honors and a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, academic honor society. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of San Francisco, Fresno, where she also was chief resident.

Dr. Demetral was born and raised in the Central Valley, and she speaks Spanish. She especially enjoys volunteering and working in our community. She is also an avid hiker and runner.
