Fellowship-trained in pediatric emergency medicine, Dr. Janice Kezirian returned to Valley Children’s as a pediatric emergency physician in July 2011. Her areas of special interest include improving emergency department flow and utilizing physicians in triage.

Most recently Dr. Kezirian served as an attending pediatrician in the emergency department and urgent care centers at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Previously she served as an attending physician in the emergency department at Valley Children’s, as well as a clinical instructor in pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco – Fresno Medical Education Program in Fresno, Calif.

Dr. Kezirian has presented on a broad range of topics across the country and has published in several peer-reviewed journals, including “Human Pathology,” “Laboratory Investigation” and “Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.” She also authored a chapter on dental trauma in Fleischer and Ludwig’s book “5-Minute Pediatric Emergency Medicine Consult.”

Dr. Kezirian earned her medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. She did a one-year rotating internship at Mugerza Hospital in Monterrey, Mexico. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at University of California, San Francisco – Fresno Medical Education Program in Fresno, Calif. She did her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She is board eligible.
