Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN), Dr. David Walton joined the maternal-fetal medicine team at Valley Children’s in 2017.

After earning a medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts, Dr. Walton went on to the University of Hawaii School of Medicine where he completed a transitional internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology. He then completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Florida.

Early in his career, Dr. Walton served in the California Air Force National Guard as a flight surgeon, and then for the United States Air Force where, for nearly a decade, he served in the capacity of staff physician, state air surgeon, medical group commander and chief aerospace commander. With diverse experience providing specialized care, Dr. Walton went on to work for Kaiser Permanente where he spent more than two decades as an accomplished care provider having served in several roles, including regional chief perinatologist and assistant chief of OBGYN.

In addition to specialized training and experience in the field of maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Walton has certifications in amniocentesis, consultative ultra sonography and chorionic villus sampling. He brings a wealth of knowledge to Valley Children’s and has shared his expertise in various abstract presentations and peer-reviewed publications including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Reproductive Medicine and Journal of Perinatology.
