Board certified by the American Board of Surgery in pediatric surgery and general surgery, Dr. Carlos Sanchez-Glanville joined Valley Children’s in 2018 as a pediatric surgeon.

Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Sanchez-Glanville worked on the pediatric surgery staff at the Hospital Espanol Auxilio Mutuo de Puerto Rico and the San Jorge Children’s Hospital, both in Puerto Rico. He also worked at the Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital on the pediatric surgery staff and as an assistant professor at the Pediatric University Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Sanchez-Glanville is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA), the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (CAPS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He holds certifications by the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He is also currently a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Sanchez-Glanville has participated in extensive research in genetic analysis of patients with hereditary inclusion body myopathy and has been published in peer review publications such as the World Journal of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery and the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. He has also presented his research at the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons Annual Meeting and the American College of Surgeons Puerto Rico Chapter annual meeting.

Dr. Sanchez-Glanville graduated magna cum laude when he received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2008. He went on to complete a residency in general surgery in 2013 from the University of Puerto School of Medicine and a residency in pediatric surgery in 2015 from the University of Calgary Alberta Children’s Hospital in Canada.

He is fluent in English and Spanish.
