Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Beni Adeniji returned to the Central Valley and joined Valley Children’s as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist in July 2010.
Dr. Adeniji is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Faculty of Family Planning and Reproductive Health).
Prior to completing a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Adeniji was an obstetrician/gynecologist for the Family Healthcare Network and Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency in Visalia, California, and an attending physician at Harbor University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Adeniji is committed to the improvement of children’s health, nutrition and education. He enjoys giving his time, effort and resources to various causes that aid the poor and disadvantaged.
Dr. Adeniji is a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a member of the Perinatal Advisory Committee for Leadership, Advocacy and Consultation (PAC-LAC). He served as chairman of the Alliance for Agriculture reception committee for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Bukola Saraki of Nigeria at the 39th World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, and was an invited participant at the World Health Organization Preterm Birth International Collaborative (PREBIC) in Geneva, Switzerland in April 2009.
He has presented at national forums on topics in maternal-fetal medicine such as diabetes in pregnancy and the effects of vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy.
Dr. Adeniji received his medical degree from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Nigeria, graduating with honors. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residencies at Jessop Hospital for Women in Sheffield, United Kingdom and King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where he was executive chief resident. He completed a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and received the Lowy Fellowship Award for outstanding professional achievement in maternal-fetal medicine.
An avid athlete, Dr. Adeniji enjoys skiing, water sports and soccer. During medical school, he was captain of the university’s field hockey team and played national-level.
