Practice Philosophy
"At Valley Children's we say 'we bring our best each day, knowing that kids are counting on us.' I believe that to live that truth we have to center the perspective of our kids and their families in all that we do. To be the best advocates and clinicians that we can for our kids, we have to blend the most accurate, relevant medical evidence with compassion, empathy, and active listening to really understand our patients' and families' goals and values, and come together as a team to make the best possible plan of care.
I also believe that to provide the best care, we have to train the future of pediatrics, and teaching and learning from our pediatric trainees, modeling effective patient and family-centered, evidence-based, equitable care is both a passion and a mission for me.
Every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the right to thrive, and it is our duty to elevate their voices and advance health equity in all that we do."

Dr. Webb joined Valley Children's in August 2012 as a pediatric hospitalist. Board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine, Dr. Webb enjoys managing a wide variety of conditions from birth to early adulthood, and working with children and families during often difficult times in their lives. She is passionate about patient and family-centered care, serving as the site principal investigator for a national study on improving communications during Family Centered Rounds and as the chair-elect for the Valley Children’s Patient and Family-Centered Care Committee.
Dr. Webb is very active in medical education, as the academic co-chief for hospital medicine within the Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program and the chair of the Valley Children’s Medical Staff Education Committee. She was honored to receive the Residency Teaching Award for General Pediatrics in 2018 and was also selected for the APEX Educator Program, a teaching leadership program through the AAP and Academic Pediatric Association. She co-leads the residency advocacy curriculum and has a particular interest in health equity and health disparities.
Dr. Webb’s scholarly interests include curricular development, quality improvement, health literacy and communication and pediatric firearm injury prevention. She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has had multiple presentations accepted to national meetings on topics such as promotion of faculty scholarship, recognition and mitigation of bias in healthcare and improving care for LGBTQ+ youth. She is very active in mentoring residents on scholarly projects.
She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Hospital Medicine, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and Specialty Medical Group.
Dr. Webb earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While at UCLA, Dr. Webb received specialized training in child health advocacy, which has been a central focus of both her personal and professional pursuits since. She is an elected member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, CA Chapter 1 Board of Directors and is also active in the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine and the AAP Council on Injury, Violence and Poisoning Prevention. She was also selected for the AAP Young Physician Leadership Program.
In her free time, Dr. Webb enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, cooking, reading and exploring the Central Valley.
Research
My main interests are in medical education, high value care, evidence-based medicine and quality improvement. I believe in utilizing education, scholarship and advocacy as a framework for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion and addressing health and health care disparities.
