Kids Day Raises More Than $630,000 for Valley Children’s Hospital

(Madera, CA) – The 32nd Annual Kids Day benefiting Valley Children’s Hospital surpassed its $625,000 fundraising goal with a record-breaking $634,301. More than 8,000 volunteers from more than 20 communities braved the rain and hit the streets on Tuesday, March 5, throughout Central California to sell special Kids Day editions of The Fresno Bee for a suggested donation of $1 each.

“On behalf of the Valley Children’s family, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who came out in support of Kids Day,” Valley Children’s Foundation President Rob Saroyan said. “The outpouring of volunteer and community support is a reminder of the spirit of service that inspires us to give our very best for the children of the Valley.”

The event, held annually since 1987 in partnership with The Fresno Bee and ABC30, raises funds to support “The Children’s Fund,” which enables Valley Children’s to invest in areas of greatest need, improving the lives of patients and their families.

Valley Children’s wishes to thank the following businesses for their support this year:

  • Super Kid Sponsors: Barrier Roofing, El Mexicano Foods, Table Mountain Casino, Trinity Fruit Sales, Wells Fargo
  • Big Kid Sponsors: Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Eye-Q, Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Media Solutions, Inc., Pacific Service Credit Union, Pro-PT Physical Therapy, Z Blinds Company
