The Cardiothoracic Surgery Program provides the highest quality comprehensive intraoperative and post-operative care. The Cardiothoracic Surgery team is part of the Northern California regional congenital heart program affiliated with Stanford University. Each year, surgeons in the program perform over 1,000 cardiothoracic operations which include the full spectrum of closed and open heart procedures. These include the simple and most complex repairs for newborns, infants, children, teenagers, and young adults. At Valley Children’s, two pediatric cardiac surgeons work closely with cardiac pediatric anesthesiologists and pediatric intensive care physicians. The outcomes of the cardiothoracic surgery team at Valley Children’s compares favorably to other major pediatric cardiothoracic surgery programs.
