There weren’t any tricks recently when the annual Halloween parade took to the halls of Children's Hospital Central California as ghosts, goblins, and even a Care Bear or two made their way around the facility collecting goodies. Child Life staff members organize the parade for those patients who are unable to be away from the hospital on Halloween.
Children's Hospital doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers dress up too and hand each child a special treat. “It’s actually a special treat for us to be able to see the patients all dressed up in their costumes having so much fun,” said Suzan Parsons director recruitment services at Children’s. For patients who are unable to leave their room, Child Life staff members stop by with goodie bags.
