Valley Health Focuses on Childhood Cancer

The current issue of Valley Health Magazine (May/June 2012) takes an in-depth look at childhood cancer and the ways it differs from adult cancer in prevalence, type, risk factors, research and more. The article explores not only how enhanced therapies have increased survival rates for children but also put them at risk for long-term health problems. Information is included about the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program at Children's Hospital Central California as well as a story written by Savannah Gomes, cancer survivor and patient at Children's Hospital.

The childhood cancer feature article was written by Monica Prinzing, senior writer at Children's Hospital.
