On Friday, May 14th, 152 golf enthusiasts traveled to Stevinson Ranch Golf Club for the 6th Annual Children’s Hospital Central California Golf Tournament. The grand total raised at this year's event was a record breaking $85,000 (and counting)! The growing success is attributed to a great committee, strong sponsor participation and support from both the north and south Valley golfers.
A big thank you to major sponsors: Taco Bell, ABC 30, Fresno Lexus, Fuzio’s, McLane Foodservice Division, Merrill Lynch, Miller Pacific, Inc., Paul McDougal Marketing, Stericycle, The Brownie Baker, Wells Capital Management, and Winton-Ireland Insurance. Valley Wide Beverage and Pepsi provided drinks on the course.
Cancer survivor and Children’s Hospital ambassador Raymond Parra was on hand to hit Tee Shots for donations and to draw winning raffle tickets. The winning team was: Stuart Conrad, Chris Nola, Robert Turner & Jim Lowe.
This was the second year the tournament was designated a Lexus Champions for Charity Golf Tournament – one of 190 held across the United States, raising over $120 million for charities since 1989.
After battling it out with a phone bidder, Auctioneer David Halvorson was the winner of a golf trip for two to play in the Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach in December 2010. His donation brought an additional $6,200 to Children’s Hospital.
Proceeds from the tournament will help the hospital fulfill its mission and ensure that every child in Central California has access to excellent health care. Thanks Dave Olson, Taco Bell, Sponsors, Volunteers and all the golfers who supported this great event!
