Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Whitney Kalin joined Children’s Hospital Central California as a pediatric hospitalist in October 2013. Her areas of clinical interest include pediatric respiratory infections and pediatric liver disease.
Before coming onboard full-time, Dr. Kalin provided locums coverage for Children’s since November 2011 as well as at other hospitals in California and Alaska. Previously she worked at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, Kansas, as an attending pediatric hospitalist since 2010. She served as an active duty captain and then major in the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kansas, from 2007-2010. While there, she worked as a general pediatrician and Pediatric Advanced Life Support director at Irwin Community Hospital.
Dr. Kalin is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and Specialty Medical Group.
Dr. Kalin received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In her free time, Dr. Kalin enjoys gardening, writing mystery novels, community theatre and traveling to Italy.
