Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Mary Mazel joined the pediatric intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital Central California in August 2013.
Dr. Mazel comes to us from University of Tennessee-LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., where she served as an assistant professor as well as a pediatric intensivist since 2011. Previously she worked as a pediatric critical care transport physician at the Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center.
Dr. Mazel has presented and lectured on numerous topics in her field. She has published her work in peer-reviewed publications, including Infection and Immunity. She is a member of several professional organizations, including American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and California Medical Association.
Dr. Mazel received her medical degree from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Keck School of Medicine, in Los Angeles, Calif. She did her pediatric internship and residency at Women’s and Children’s Hospital LAC+USC Medical Center, in Los Angeles, Calif. She completed her fellowship in pediatric critical care at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
Dr. Mazel also received the prestigious Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award for exemplifying outstanding humanism in medicine and delivering compassionate care to patients and their families.
