Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Clifton Huang joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric gastroenterologist in July 2012. His areas of special interest include inflammatory bowel disease, general gastroenterology and advanced procedures.
Dr. Huang received his medical degree from Universidad Dr. Jose Matias Delgado, El Salvador. He did his pediatric internship and residency in pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital in Miami, Fla. He completed his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at Emory University, School of Medicine, in Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Huang has presented internationally on various topics, including inflammatory bowel disease, autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gastroesophagic reflux disease in childhood. He has also received national and international awards.
He has published in peer-reviewed publications such as “Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition,” “Journal of Visualized Experiments” and “Critical Care,” and in the medical books, “Advanced Therapy in Inflammatory Bowel Disease,” third edition, and “Revisiting IBD Management: Dogmas to be Challenged,” Falk Symposium 179.
Dr. Huang is a member of several professional societies, including the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition; American College of Gastroenterology; Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America; and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of Specialty Medical Group.
Dr Huang is fluent in Spanish. In his free time he dedicates his time to his wife and two children.
