Golf Center Near Valley Children’s Hospital to Remain Open

Valley Children’s Healthcare is pleased to announce that the golf facilities on property recently acquired by the Hospital will continue operations under new ownership effective January 12, 2018. LPGA Teaching Professional Cindy Vining will operate Valley Golf Center – currently known as River Park Golf Center.

“I’m thrilled that Valley Golf Center will continue to serve the community for as long as possible,” says Valley Children’s President and CEO Todd Suntrapak. “The center is a valued resource for hundreds of students and for The First Tee of Fresno.”

Twenty-nine schools in the Fresno/Madera area and The First Tee of Fresno utilize the center for lessons and golf team practices. The First Tee is a non-profit organization offering youth development programs that use golf to help children learn lessons designed to build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices.

“I have grown up playing golf and know firsthand the values it teaches,” says new operator Cindy Vining. “We are excited that schools and our golfing community will continue to have a premiere facility to use for lessons, practices and events.”

The golf center will also be open to the general public.

Valley Children’s purchased the 59-acre property in September of this year. The healthcare network is currently updating its master campus site plan and the property will be incorporated into those plans.

“The need for pediatric specialty care throughout Central California continues to grow,” adds Mr. Suntrapak. “We constantly assess our plans to ensure we can meet the needs of Valley families today and for future generations. Everything we do is focused on improving the health and wellbeing of children.”
