Valley Children’s to Host School Nurses Conference

Valley Children’s Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is hosting a conference Friday for school nurses who work throughout Central California. The event, offered at no cost, will focus on “Hemoglobinopathy, Common Childhood Cancer & Survivorship” and is eligible for continuing education credits for nurses.

The conference includes discussions on blood diseases, such as sickle cell disease, thalassemia and hereditary spherocytosis; identifying the social issues faced by children and families and the impact on their overall health and wellbeing; recognizing health parameters for survivors of childhood cancer; and facilitating communication with community providers.
