(Madera, Calif.) - We’re grateful and thankful for Disney "VoluntEARS" and ABC 30 for providing holiday cheer and special presents to our patients! For more than 36 years, The Walt Disney Company and its VoluntEARS program have provided comfort, happiness and inspiration to kids and families around the globe. We are thrilled Disney and its affiliate ABC 30 chose to support Valley Children’s through a community grant that brought smiles and joy to many.
On December 14, patients had the opportunity to enter a specially-decorated “winter wonderland” set up in the hospital to participate in arts and crafts, and choose their very own Disney toy, plush animal or blanket. Patients who were unable leave their room were given the opportunity to select their toy via an iPad tablet. Then, the “VoluntEARS” hand-delivered their chosen toy and even stayed a bit to play! In all, a total of 185 patients received gifts.
The Disney VoluntEARS program makes it simple and fun for their employees to make a positive impact in local communities, and we are grateful they chose to benefit the children and families served by Valley Children’s Healthcare.
