Remembering Founding Mother Carolyn Peck

Valley Children’s is profoundly saddened by the passing of Mrs. Carolyn Peck. First and foremost, our thoughts and sympathies extend to the Peck family on the loss of their matriarch.

For all of us at Valley Children’s, Mrs. Peck was larger than life and our compass who guided us in service to humility, modesty and a passion for our mission. She was the inspiration for our work—work that she and the other four founding mothers began more than 70 years ago.

In our Valley, there have been few that have provided so much for so many. Mrs. Peck and our founding mothers’ vision gave form, life and purpose to one of the largest pediatric healthcare organizations in the United States. But more importantly, that vision has cared for, healed and saved generations of children through Valley Children's.

Much is lost with Mrs. Peck’s passing but her spirit and presence will remain the guiding force for us in our work at Valley Children’s.
